Winter Park, FL – Ivy Tea Rose, Incorporated®, the 501 (c)(3) arm of Nu Iota Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® will once again partner with the Hannibal Square Heritage Center to celebrate our 2nd annual "Afternoon with the Arts", Sunday, May 20, 2012 from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Our focus this year is: Youth on Parade.
This year Ivy Tea Rose, Incorporated® will feature artists all under the age of 25! Our program will include several members from the Ivy Rosettes, our mentoring group from the Margaret Square Housing Project. We will feature two budding artists, Destiny and Nya Thornton, the musical stylings of not one, but two guitarists – Brittney Goodwin and Janai Law, dancing by Kaerra McCray and tap dancing by the Central Florida Teen Tappers. Other artists included in our "Afternoon with the Arts" are MarCherie Thompkins expressing herself through monologue and Trieona Smith reading an excerpt from her novella.
This is a FREE event! Donations will be accepted and are tax deductible. The Hannibal Square Heritage Center will be host to "An Afternoon with the Arts". The Heritage Center was established in 2007 by the Crealdé School of Art in partnership with the residents of Hannibal Square community (west Winter Park) and the City of Winter Park. It is a tribute to the past, present and future contributions of Winter Park's historic African American community.

We have continued our work at Margaret Square mentoring girls in grades 3-5 by enhancing their academic and social skills while having fun.
The amount of funds being contributed increased in 2011. Others are encouraged to designate Ivy Tea Rose, Incorporated as their charity through the United Way. We thank the community members who not only designate Ivy Tea Rose, Incorporated, but also their support of our fundraising efforts.
Ivy Tea Rose, Incorporated once again will partner with our parent organization to bring you the Robin Lynn Young (RLY) Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament. If you wish to become a sponsor you may do so on several levels. Please click here for sponsorship information.
