The Ivy Rosettes program began through a partnership with the Winter Park Housing Authority, focusing on mentoring girls aged 8 to 11. The Ivy Rosettes meet monthly on the first Saturday afternoon at the Margaret Square Community Center.
These young girls come from diverse backgrounds and life circumstances. The program aims to "fill the gap" where there is an unmet need, broadening their worldview and understanding of how they fit into it through exposure to social and cultural events beyond their immediate community. Additionally, the girls engage in life lessons and activities designed to identify and develop their leadership skills.
Volunteers from Ivy Tea Rose, Inc., and the Nu Iota Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated proudly staff the Ivy Rosettes Program.
