Our work began with The Ivy Rosettes designated as our signature program, formed through a partnership with the Winter Park Housing Authority, focuses on mentoring young girls between the ages of 8 and 11 years. The program continues to meet once a month on the 1st Saturday afternoon at the Margaret Square Community Center. Our Rosettes come from varied backgrounds and life situations. We seek to “fill the gap” where there is an unmet need. It is our desire to broaden their concept of the world and how they fit in it, through exposure to social and cultural events that take place beyond their immediate community. In addition, we engage the girls in life lessons and activities that help to identify and develop leadership skills. The Ivy Rosettes Program is staffed by volunteers from the membership of Ivy Tea Rose, Inc. and Nu Iota Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
